چکیده

The second-order photon correlation function g2(τ) is of great importance in quantum optics. typically measured with the Hanbury Brown and Twiss (HBT) interferometer, which employs a pair single-photon detectors dual-channel time acquisition module. Here, we demonstrate new method to measure extract standard avalanche photodiode (dead-time = 22 ns) single-channel This realized by shifting coincidence counts interest window not affected dead-time after-pulse detection system using fiber-based delay line. scheme verified measuring from single colloidal nanocrystal. Photon antibunching unambiguously observed agrees well result HBT setup. Our simplifies higher-order technique might be favored cost-sensitive circumstances.

Imaging of Single Photon Emitter Fluorescence and Photon Antibunching

In this experiment we demonstrate the Confocal Microscope fluorescence imaging of various single photon emitters like carbon nanotube, quantum dots and color centre in nano-diamonds. We also measure their spectrum to characterize them. Finally we use the Hanbury Brown and Twiss Setup to test if the photons emitted from our source has antibunching properties.

Simulated low-intensity optical pulsar observation with single-photon detector

Context. Optical radiation of pulsars offers valuable clues to the physics of neutron stars, which are our only probes of the most extreme states of matter in the present-day universe. Still, only about 1% of all cataloged pulsars have known optical counterparts. Aims. The goal of this work is to develop an observational method optimized for discovering faint optical pulsars. Methods. A single-...

Single photon detector with high polarization sensitivity

Polarization is one of the key parameters of light. Most optical detectors are intensity detectors that are insensitive to the polarization of light. A superconducting nanowire single photon detector (SNSPD) is naturally sensitive to polarization due to its nanowire structure. Previous studies focused on producing a polarization-insensitive SNSPD. In this study, by adjusting the width and pitch...

First observation of two-electron one-photon transitions in single-photon K-shell double ionization.

Experimental evidence for the correlated two-electron one-photon transitions (1s(-2)→2s(-1)2p(-1)) following single-photon K-shell double ionization is reported. The double K-shell vacancy states in solid Mg, Al, and Si were produced by means of monochromatized synchrotron radiation, and the two-electron one-photon radiative transitions were observed by using a wavelength dispersive spectromete...

SINGLE-PHOTON DETECTOR MODULE APPLICATION NOTE Single-photon detection with InGaAs/InP avalanche photodiodes

When most people think of detecting single-photons, photomultiplier tubes probably spring to their mind. Indeed, for a long time these were the detectors of choice in ultrasensitive detection and spectroscopy. Today, however other types of detectors allow to reach a single-photon sensitivity. Special semiconductor devices called singlephoton avalanche diodes (SPAD) have been developed, optimise...
